“Fuck that.” People reporting on Blow’s ruthlessly idealistic vitriol are split - this article is fawning, Kotaku’s link to it is scathing. The fawners have played Braid - Kotaku haven’t. Believe me, he has an astonishing game to back up this rhetoric.
Rob: Braid is one thing. That he's managed to get a game made his way that emodies his idea(l)s remains to be seen (even what ideals he's included). The fact is that Blow speaks for the majority of people who give a damn about games, and idealistic vitriol is exactly what drives creativity, lest we forget. The minute people stop giving a damn about what they're doing with their medium, and worry about returns, is when games - or anything - turn to crap. Commerce is anathema to art.

An unknown php script is randomly causing 15-second chokings of my server's CPU, ultimately hogging so much of its time that my host suspend this entire website for a few minutes. So I've snipped all non-essential elements until I can diagnose it. Apologies if you've encountered one of these CPU Exceeded screens. Believe it or not, what would help most with my diagnosis is lots and lots of people visiting James as often as possible over the next few days. Rolo desserts are also effective.
