But why even try to choose? You can enjoy all these things now, in the Perseus Mandate demo! Man, even the title is ominous and meaningful.

P.S. I got an e-mail yesterday from someone called ’1996′. They seem to be missing their concept of ‘offensively bland’ and were wondering if I’d seen it anywhere?

It's an expansion, of course it's going to have similar graphics/environments/weapons. The game is based off the same engine.
There are newer enemies with better AI and there are newer guns (assault with a scope for example).

 
Pentadact: I wish they were similar. FEAR had its drab spots, but nothing near the dizzying stratosphere of blocky, crudely-crafted drab that was that demo level.
