Play Station Portable known as PSP is a portable video games console created and sold by Sony Computer Entertainment. Sony introduced PSP in May 2004 on E3 press conference. The device was released on 11 May 2004 in Japan, on 24 March 2005 in the United States, and in the end in Europe and Australia on October 2005.
The PSP console is a first portable video games console using optical drives format UMD(Universal Media Disc) as a main storage of data. The other special characteristics of PSP are quiet big screen, multiple multimedia options and the possibility of connecting to other PSP devices and the internet.
The PSP has higher computing power and much more multimedia possibilities than its competitor nintendo DS. Introducing Slim&Lite PSP in 2007 made the sales growing up four times in the United Kingdom and twice in the USA.
The PSP S&L console enables connecting to the outer TV screen using one of three possible types of cable: Composite, S-Video, Component (YPBPR) and D-Terminal (YPBPR).
